I still wasn’t feeling great today so this is more credited to Mr S again. I also wasn’t particularly looking forward to this but it was so so good. Those chicken livers just ‘melted’ down into the gravy and with the addition of the soy sauce – mmm sublime.
- Wash, dry and slice the chicken livers
- Slice some mushrooms
- Chop up some spring onions
- Cut the broccoli into pieces and blanch in salted boiling water then drain
- Mix cornflour with soy sauce to create a thinish paste
- Get cornflour, seasoning, oil & raw prawns ready
Toss the chicken livers in cornflour and remove the excess. Fry in oil for about a minute.
Add the mushrooms to the pan and cook for a few minutes.
Add the broccoli and stir.
Add in the raw prawns and spring onions then add in the soy/cornflour mixture.
Stir well and serve with rice and a little more spring onion when the prawns have cooked through.
This is from another one of my Aunties Seventies cook books. It’s definitely worth a go, it was exceptionally tasty.

A meet up with five lovely ladies from the family tonight. We went to Marr Lodge where I had a lovely mushroom starter and good old fashioned scampi & chips.
