Luckily, we were having a salad tonight. After the gym, which I was already late to thanks to the train, Mr S came to pick me up and got stuck in traffic. We decided to go the long way round to get back home via the A1 and this was also at a standstill. After taking the scenic route we made it home about 8pm. Not bad, the gym’s only 10 minutes away from ours and I left at 7.20pm.
Mr S had bought a bottle of wine so that softened the blow a little.
Although I was not particularly looking forward to this we fully enjoyed it…
Make your dressing of buttermilk, mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, a finely chopped (or crushed) garlic, a pinch of salt and crushed black peppercorns.
Toast some sourdough.
Toast some walnuts.
Julienne a celeriac and a couple of sticks of celery.
Core and slice an apple – I used my train station Morrisons freebie but a red one would be nice for colour.
Halve some red grapes.
Toss the celeriac, celery, grapes and apple in the dressing.
Cut the sourdough into cubes and roughly chop the walnuts, add to the salad along with pieces of torn cooked ham.
This recipe was in a Tesco magazine.
Using BUTTERMILK, MAYONNAISE, WHITE WINE VINEGAR, GARLIC, BLACK PEPPERCORNS, SOURDOUGH BREAD, WALNUTS, CELERIAC, CELERY, APPLE, RED GRAPES and COOKED HAM…
This was dinner…8th May 2014.
